Coaching Opportunities!

The Valleyview Skating Club is offering a signing bonus for the successful candidate. In addition, our club will provide funding for upgrading to the required level dependent upon the length of employment with our club. Apply without delay for this great opportunity!

The Valleyview Skating Club, located in Kamloops, BC is currently in need of an additional member to join their team coaching staff. This position starts September 1, 2017. Candidates for this position should be highly motivated and enthusiastic, and are looking for an opportunity to grow with our rapidly expanding club. We have had more than 10% increases in numbers in all programs for the last several years. The successful candidate must be currently registered in good standing with Skate Canada, be a minimum Trained Regional Coach, and be familiar with the new Star 1 – 5 test program or be willing to learn and implement these programs. Our programs include 17 hours of on-ice time, with a Monday through Friday schedule which includes CanSkate, Adult CanSkate, CanPowerSkate, Adult CanPowerSkate, Adult STARSkate, STARSkate and CompetitiveSkate and are complemented by a host of off-ice programs.

The Kamloops Skating Club (KSC) is a 30+ year old club that is experiencing significant growth.  With a 40% increase in our numbers this past season, we could not accomodate all the interest and we expect significant growth in the coming years. KSC is looking to hire a NCCP trained/CanSkate trained coach. Other certifications that would be beneficial would be Primary Star Skate trained and/or CanPowerSkate trained. We are looking for strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with other coaches is an important asset.
